Let's not talk about the streets, let's just talk about school.
Everywhere I turn, I see people using LV/GUCCI/COACH wallets. So I thought to myself, it's alright, kids nowadays are getting richer. Hence, refused to give much thoughts to this issue. But, what spurred me to pen down my thoughts, was the sight of BIGGER LV bags in school. There was this _____ girl, carrying a LV Monogram backpack (it's authenticity was rather doubted because of her ____) And, another _______ year two girl carrying a rather large LV Monogram Speedy bag.
I know of some really well to do friends, who unquestionably are able and are in possession of such luxury goods. But, the difference is, they don't flaunt like this, at least not in school. Isn't it a little too flashy to bring your branded bags to school? I'd reckon that one of those bags cost at least $1k or more considering the size of their bags.
Oh, and not to forget, everyone, is using an iPhone. The sight of more iPhones irk me, what's with the whole issue of owning an iPhone. And, everyone, has an iPod touch. It's such a turn off, especially the fact that the _____ owns an iPod touch makes me want to throw mine away. It's like they sold their PSP to buy an iPod touch. Urgh. And soon, everyone, yes, everyone will possess a Blackberry, yes, the _____s too. So, I cannot emphasize how much I love my phone, I hope they will never bring it into Singapore, so the _____s cannot have them.
With that said, everyone, including you and me, we're all victims of commercialisation. Not labelling all of us as suckers for branded goods, but pursuers of awesome fashion. I'm as guilty as charged, but at least, all I do is to wear my Fred Perry shoe to school, that's all.
P/S: Oh yes, I really hate the _____s. With that incident at Starbucks* and I hate their typicals trying too hard to fit into societal norms. I think they should cease to exsistence together with the ______s. But then again, without them, who will sweep our roads? Tsk.
*Starbucks Story
Jack and I were sitting at Starbucks, waiting for Anita and Sliv. We were occupying two chairs and a table. Beside us, on the right was an empty chair, not belonging to any table. And on the left, there was an empty table with one chair. Then there's this two _____ women, came up to us and asked if they could have a chair. So naturally, anyone would have thought that they were referring to the chair on the right. Of course we said yes. But, they expect us to move a seat so they could have the chair Jack was sitting on. I thought that was ridiculous so I refused to move. Jack, being nice, moved to the chair on the right so they can have his chair. So after moving, one of them mumbled in their language, saying in partial English, that if we had refused, her husband would ask which school are we from and tell us off.
Well, if she had done that, I could have replied like this:
"We're from MI, and we have every rights not to move." Please tell me that I was not in the wrong, because I really think that this is absolutely ridiculous.
